Musical Instruments to Enhance Youth Evangelism
The Diocese of Tarime has purchased quality musical instruments for three youth choirs namely St Luke’s in Tarime town, St Paul’s Mogabiri (10km east of Tarime), and Kerende church in Nyamongo area.
2013 Diocesan Synod
The second Synod of the Diocese of Tarime met at Mogabiri Agricultural Centre (10km east of Tarime) from 5-8th November 2013. The Diocesan Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Dr Mwita Akiri, chaired the Synod. This Synod was attended by 115 delegates from 29 parishes in the Diocese.
Triennial Mothers Union Conference Held in Tarime
The first official triennial conference of the Mothers’ Union (diocesan women’s organization) met at Mogabiri from June 13-16, 2013 to pray, worship, and deliberate on the work of the organisation, including the role of women in mission and development.

Mogabiri Farm Extension Centre hereafter “MFEC” is a rural development organization under the Anglican Diocese of Tarime which is operating under the Anglican of Tanzania (registered as ‘Society’ and the Registered Trustees of the Anglican Church of Tanzania. MFEC is working in the Tarime district, Mara region. It was established in 1986 and has been a role model in running sustainable improvement of community livelihoods in order to reduce poverty through crop production, environmental conservation, income generating activities (IGAs) as well as gender and women empowerment.

The major objective is mainstreamed into the long-term goal of the centre which is to improve the living standards of the people in Tarime district. MFEC has been implementing its programmes and services in various phases and in each phase it uses participatory approaches. Since its inception, MFEC follows community demand-driven ideas determined by the needs of the target beneficiaries. The approach places emphasis on community effective participation from the needs assessment stage to project implementation and evaluation stage with a view to hastening problem solving skills and promoting a sense of ownership for sustainability purposes.

MFEC past and present international and national development partners include the Government of Tanzania (through Tarime District Council), Inter-Church Organization for Development Cooperation (ICCO) in the Netherlands, Bread for The World (BfTW) in Germany, Heifer Project International (HPI) in USA, Catholic Relief Services (CRS), Participatory Ecological Land Use Management (PELUM Tanzania), World Vision Canada, Diocese of Leeds (formerly Wakefield Diocese, UK), and the Foundation for Civil Society (FCS).
